Hello loyal fans (if you're reading this, that's you!),

Obviously we've been silent since Bobby's last show, so I just wanted to give a quick-and-dirty update.  Right now, we're on indefinite hiatus.  Bobby has started his degree in music at UMass, and we wish him luck.  Sam is finishing his degree at Gordon and plans to graduate in the spring.  Chris is currently playing in a band called Elle Driver.  And I've been working on writing and recording my own solo project as well as playing with an as-yet-unnamed band.

Sam and I are planning on starting a new group.  At this point it's not clear what shape it will take, but we'll be sure to keep you posted.  As for the future of Emrys, it's unclear at this point, but don't worry...we're still planning on releasing the stuff we've been recording in some form or another.  Be sure to check back.

For those who haven't heard, Bobby has decided to leave the band. He's heading off to school on August 28. We're all pretty bummed about it, but we're confident he's making the right decision. As to what the future holds for Emrys, no one's really sure yet. But we'll definitely keep you posted.

the. singularity.

it is a quality marking someone as distinct from others - a peculiarity - something uncommon or unusual.  an aspect of our personality we would rather not see come to light, but which we secretly cherish in the dark corners of our minds.  it is what makes us human.

scientifically speaking, the singularity is the point at which space becomes endlessly distorted.  it is the center of a black hole - where time is infinite and all thought collapses.  creation and destruction in a single breath.

black. powder. war.

in trans-humanism, the singularity is the moment when societal and economic reform occur so quickly we cannot even fathom what will happen from our current position - it is the point when humanity ceases to exist and post-humanity flares to life.

it also marks the singular instant when technological expansion will be at its fastest. when artificial intelligence becomes self-aware and sentient.  those individuals commanding the plastic mechanics of a shattered society will yearn for humanity - violently breaking free from the programs we have imposed upon them.

whether we wish it or not, this techno-apocalyptic dream fast approaches.  the day will soon come when we wake up and realize that the world we knew no longer exists - that we no longer exist.
